45x Advanced Zoom
With Canon’s unique Advanced Zoom system, get closer to all of the action. The combination of a genuine Canon Video Lens and the powerful DIGIC DV II processor brings a high magnification factor of 45x to widescreen recording.

Megapixel CCD
Capture great-looking movies directly to DVD (-R/-RW/-R DL) via a Megapixel CCD. DVDs are easy to finalise in-camera and perfect for playing back in your home DVD player.

Quick Start
You’ll never miss a shot with Quick Start. Simply flip open the LCD screen to power the camcorder up from Standby mode in approximately one second.

Easy to use, easy to shoot
All key functions are easily accessed through the intuitive menu system, displayed on the LCD screen. A comfortable Joystick controller is located on the edge of the screen. A one-push Easy mode switches all settings to automatic, allowing even novice users to enjoy moviemaking.

Keep on shooting
Use DVD-R Dual Layer media to capture even more – record over an hour of footage on each DL disc. The camcorder is also compatible with High Capacity batteries, allowing you to keep on shooting for longer.

Shoot True Widescreen movies
Canon’s True Wide High Resolution 16:9 system is made up of a widescreen CCD, a 2.7” 16:9 LCD screen, and a 0.27” 16:9 EVF (Electronic Viewfinder). You can record and preview your movies in True Widescreen, before watching them on a Widescreen TV.

DIGIC DV II
The powerful DIGIC DV II processor – originally developed for High Definition video – is fast and efficient. With split path processing, it allows you to shoot video and stills simultaneously, optimising the colours for each. Advanced noise reduction technology leads to better looking images.
